Jamaicans leading the way at Penn Relays – High School Girls’ Preview

Manchester – winner of one Penn Relays title – and Holmwood Tech, winner of 13, lead another strong group of Jamaican girls’ teams at this year’s Relays.

Manchester’s sole victory came in the 1994 4×100 Championship of America. This year Manchester has the top time for the season in that event, the 45.52 it ran at Gibson Relays. They also have one of the top times in the 4×4 (3:38.83) and 4×8 (9:08.10) and are led by one of the stars of this year’s Jamaican Champs, Natoya Goule. Goule won the 800, 1,500 and 3,000 at Champs. She has PRs of 54.65, 2:04.29, 4:27.48 and 9:56.79.

Holmwood Tech was Champs winner of the 4×4 (3:37.52) and has run 45.66 in the 4×1 and 9:10.99 in the 4×8. Their 400 runners include Petra Fanty (54.61) and Chris-Ann Gordon (53.62). In the 800 they have Lovan Palmer (2:13), Petrene Plummer (2:11) and Gordon (2:12)…..Read More

    I AM SORRY YOU WONT GET THE CHANCE TO ATTEND T ROOTS, HOWEVER I’LL REPRESENT AS BEST AS I CAN. I WILL BE ATTENDING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. YOU ARE RIGHT, ITS GOING TO BE CRAZY!!!!!

    Roots I will cheer and make enough nize fe both a wi bredren. I was there today (Thursday) quite a crowd for a 1st day. Looks like we gon have a lot of competition this year from the US High schools.
