Usain Bolt To Run 100m In Rome

Usain Bolt will line up in the men’s 100 meters at the Golden Gala meet in Rome on May 26, organizers announced on Friday.

The race will be his first Diamond League meet of the season for double world record holder, who will defend his world titles at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, Korea later this year.

Bolt has also signed to run the 200m in June at the Bislett Games in Oslo.

Another world record holder, David Rudisha of Kenya, who dominated the 800m last season has also committed to the Rome meet, organizers said.

Rudisha, the reigning IAAF World Athlete of Year, set back-to-back world records over the two-lap event last summer – placing his name at the top of list of contenders to capture gold in Korea in August.
