World Rankings Updates

The latest World Rankings were published and we summarized the situation in the top sections in the events finished before 30 August.


100m: World champion Yohan Blake sprinted to the first place in the World Rankings as well, overtaking Asafa Powell by just one point.

400m: Grenada’s young hero, Kirani James, moved to 2nd position by his gold medal performance. The leader is still Jermaine Gonzales who was 4th in Daegu, but was winner in Stockholm, Lausanne and Ostrava and 2nd in London and New York……Read article


100m: Carmelita Jeter – Veronica Campbell-Brown – Kelly-Ann Baptiste. That was the world rankings order before the World Championships and that’s how they finished in the Final in Daegu. No surprise that this is the order in the current Rankings, as well.

400m: Pre-Daegu leader Amantle Montsho won a gold medal for Botswana and has strengthened her top position in the World Rankings. Silver medallist Allyson Felix moved from 5th to 2nd rank…..Read article
