American World Indoor Championships gold medallist Sanya Richards-Ross will race over 400 metres at this year’s edition of the Michael Johnson Dr Pepper Classic.
The meeting will take place this Saturday at the Hart-Patterson Track Complex in Waco, Texas.
Richards-Ross, who topped the list during the indoor season with a time of 50.71 seconds, opens her outdoor campaign against a pretty solid field, which will also include the likes of Verone Chambers of Jamaica and Oklahoma Baptist.
The men’s race will feature the likes of LeJerald Betters, while a host of collegiate stars, such as Jura Levy of Jamaica and Oklahoma Baptist, Gavyn Nero of Trinidad and Tobago and American Tiffany Townsend will also be on show.
Besides this, the event will also feature several top runners from universities such as Baylor, TCU, North Texas and Texas State.
A total of 25 schools are expected to compete.
