April 7, 2017 by Gary Smith Leave a Comment

Olympic 200m bronze medallist Christophe Lemaitre headlines the French team announced for the 2017 IAAF World Relays, which takes place in the Bahamas from 22-23 April.

Lemaitre, who won a bronze medal behind Jamaica’s World Record holder Usain Bolt and Canadian Andre De Grasse in the half-lap event at Rio 2016, will be part of the France men’s 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams at Bahamas 2017.

Lemaitre helped France set a European record of 1:20.66 when finishing third at the 2014 IAAF World Relays and finished second at the 2015 edition.

Also named in the team is sprinter Jimmy Vicaut, who is the joint European 100m record holder and a member of the Olympic bronze medal 4x100m relay team at London 2012, as well as a 100m finallist at the 2016 Rio Games.

European Indoor 400m champion Floria Guei is among the athletes named in the women’s team.
