February 14, 2021 by Steve Campbell Leave a Comment

Complete results from the 2021 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix – World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting – in Staten Island on Saturday (13). Among the standout performers were Americans Donavan Brazier, Bryce Hoppel, and Elle Purrier, as well as Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas.

In exciting men’s 800m race, Brazier stopped the clopped in a new world-leading and American indoor record of 1:44.21 to dominate the field and improved his own record.

Fellow American Hoppel, who is the second fastest over 800m indoors, lift the intensity in the final two laps of the men’s 1000m to win the event in 2:16.27, which took half a second off David Torrence’s previous North American record.

Elsewhere, Purrier crossed the line in 9:10.28 in the women’s two-mile to win her second successive New Balance Grand Prix title, but this time she smashed the American record.

Miller-Uibo recorded her second national record in back-to-back outings after she clocked an area record of 50.21 to win the women’s 400m.
