LONDON — Usain Bolt anchored Jamaican Racers Track Club to the four-fastest 4x100m timing ever at the London Grand Prix on Saturday.
The initial results had shown the club being disqualified for a change out of the zone, but were reinstated to first place when officials studied footage of the pass between Bailey and Blake.
Collecting the baton out front, Bolt powered down the straightaway to see the Glen Mills-coached club home to 37.46 seconds as they destroy all challengers. The team also included Daniel Bailey, Yohan Blake and Mario Forsythe.
“It was very exciting to compete here,” Bolt said. “I just want to thank all those who came out to support us.”
The performance ranked the team behind Jamaica’s 37.10 world record and the pervious world record of 37.40, achieved twice by the Americans.
The time was the fastest ever on UK soil.
