MIAMI — Triple Olympic gold medal winner Usain Bolt and his American arch rival Tyson Gay will face each other at the Memorial Van Damme Golden League meeting Brussels on September 4.
Gay’s manager Mark Wetmore confirmed the clash with Reuters on Wednesday.
"It will likely be a 100 (meters) but it is confirmed they will race," Wetmore told Reuters.
The speedsters will meet for the first time this season at the upcoming World Championships in Berlin, which start on August 15.
Gay the triple world champion from Osaka 2007 will be hoping to defend his titles against Bolt, who achieved the same feat with world record performances at the Beijing Olympic Games last summer.
Meanwhile, it is also understood that discussions also are afoot for the Jamaican Bolt and the American Gay to race in Zurich on August 28.
