Dave Laut, Hueneme High School’s athletic director and a former Olympic shot putter, was shot to death outside his Oxnard home about midnight Thursday when he reportedly went to investigate noises in his backyard, police said.
Oxnard police said they found Laut, 52, in the backyard of his home in the 800 block of Raft Lane. He died at the scene.
