Usain Bolt may have taken sprinting to stratospheric new levels but Britain’s best cannot afford to become too disheartened by the Jamaican’s amazing success.

That is the view of Bath Bullet Jason Gardener, the 2004 Olympic sprint relay gold medallist, former World Indoor champion and one of only three Brits to have broken the magical 10 seconds barrier that Bolt has now made look rather pedestrian with his new world record of 9.58secs.
