Tyson Gay’s World Championships are over after US sprint relay team are DQ’d without him in the heats.
Gay, who won silver in the men’s 100m final, had pulled out of the 200m to rest his troublesome groin for the relay.
And that was supposed to be Gay’s shot at redemption.
But when the handover between Shawn Crawford and Darvis Patton took place outside the box, the eagle-eyed British team wasted no time in lodging a protest.
