Kim Collins retires from track & field

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FLANKED by top sporting officials, 2003 World Champion Kim Collins announced on Monday (Sept. 14) that he would be stepping down from international track and field competition.

The announcement was made at a special press conference at the Silver Jubilee Anniversary Stadium in Bird Rock where he said: “I’m trying very hard right now to hold back the tears.”

“I’m thinking about all of the memories that I had, but I feel I have got to the point where I have to pass the torch on to the younger people,” the 33-year-old Collins stated…..Read More
