Amid the worldwide furore and debate on the sexual status of world champion runner Caster Semenya, South African sports scientist and sport management consultant Dr Ross Tucker has defended Australian journalist Mike Hurst, who broke the story of Semenya’s alleged intersex status.

After listening to a Radio 702 interview with Hurst on Friday, Tucker said the journalist had given the most "honest, insightful and direct" assessment of how the controversy had been managed so far.

"Sometimes it takes someone from outside to point out the obvious," wrote Tucker on the website, the Science of Sport. "He spells out some truths that the authorities really do need to hear."….Read More
