Concerned with the development of future track and field stars, former 100 metres record holder Asafa Powell on Thursday launched his concert to raise funds for his foundation.

The event, dubbed ‘A Night On Tracks’, will be staged at the National Golf Academy in New Kingston on December 20.

Powell, who claimed the 100m bronze medal at the Berlin World Championships, says he wants to do his bit to assist youngsters like fellow athlete Usain Bolt and entertainer Shaggy.

“Jamaica is really in a bad state and if you’re in a position to help out, why not do it, because most of the crime… is really the younger ones coming up who didn’t go to school and who don’t have the academic abilities,” Powell said….Read More
