Usain Bolt is set to deal a hammer blow to this year’s Commonwealth Games by pulling out of the festival of sport.
The triple Olympic and world sprint champion in the 100 metres, 200m and 4x100m relay, as well as the triple world record holder, wants to focus instead on the 2011 World Athletics Championships and the 2012 London Olympics, where he intends to defend all his titles.
Bolt’s participation at the Games has been the subject of much speculation over the past few weeks, with the chairman of the Delhi Organising Committee, Suresh Kalmadi, first insisting that the greatest sprinter in history will definitely come to India before modifying his initial claim by stating that he has asked for Bolt to be present.
