Meb Keflezighi will return to the scene of his last victory to compete in the New York City Half-Marathon.

The New York Road Runners announced Thursday that the 2009 NYC marathon champion will compete in the 13-mile race on March 21.

He’ll be joined by Abdi Abdirahman, Anthony Famiglietti and Josh Rohatinsky in a men’s field that already includes marathon world record-holder Haile Gebrselassie.

Keflezighi, of San Diego, in November was the first American male to win the New York City Marathon since Alberto Salazar in 1982.

Keflezighi ran the inaugural NYC Half-Marathon in 2006. The four previous events were held in the summer. This marks the first springtime version of the NYC Half-Marathon.
