Zersenay Tadese fulfilled his pre-race promise and broke the world record at the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon.

The 28-year-old Eritrean struck 11 seconds from Sammy Wanjiru’s three-year-old previous best mark with a time of 58 minutes 22 seconds.
