LaShawn Merritt Banned From Olympic Games 2012 – IOC

Olympic 400 metres champion LaShawn Merritt will not be able to defend his title at the 2012 London Olympics because of a doping ban, to International Olympic Committee Director of Communications Mark Adams confirmed.

The American Olympic and world champion was banned for 21 months on Monday, backdated to October 28 last year, after testing positive for banned substances used in a male enhancement product.

“The (IOC) rule states very clearly that any athlete sanctioned for six months or more will be banned from participation in the next edition of the Games. This rule is still valid and applies to all athletes,” Adams said…..Read More

    Sad story to here another track athlete to be banned from the sport for a period of time. when can we just all go and train and work hard to reach these goals?How many sustanance there are out there that concidered proformance inhancing drugs?
