The final event of Saturday’s New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be the Men’s Mile, and it’s clear that this year’s meet is saving the best for last.
American Outdoor Record holder Alan Webb’s re-entry into the field has set up what’s sure to be a thrilling race over eight laps. Webb will face, among others: New Zealander Nick Willis, the 2008 Olympic silver medalist at 1500m and two-time defending champion at this event; Leo Manzano, the fastest American miler from last year.
Rob Myers, the 2009 USATF Indoor 1500m Champion, Pablo Solares, the Mexican record holder at this distance; and high school senior Lukas Verzbicas, America’s fastest high school miler last year. Who will win is anybody’s guess…
