Monaco – The 2010 double winner of the Samsung Diamond League on both 200m and 400m will race the 200m in Monaco on July 22nd.

Allyson Felix, who has an impressive streak of 3 consecutive world titles on the 200m in 2005 in Helsinki, 2007 in Osaka and 2009 in Berlin, will come to Monaco as her last rehearsal before heading to the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu claim an unbelievable 4th crown.

She already ran once at the Louis II stadium, when Monaco was hosting the World Athletics Final in 2006, and she astonished all the audience by winning her 200m final in a time of 22.27 (-0.6), and the numerous crowd which will be there again on July 22nd expect nothing else than such a wonderful performance from the champion.

As Allyson says: “Monaco is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I’m so grateful to be able to compete in front of the wonderful Monegasque people. I’m expecting a great race as I look forward to defending my 200 meter World Title and know that this will be a special night of athletics, I can’t wait!”

But it is also a real pleasure for the organizers of Herculis, as Meeting Director Jean-Pierre Schoebel informs: “It is always a satisfaction to have the best running in your meeting, but even more with Allyson.

Indeed, not only she is one of the fastest women in the world, but her stride is simply beautiful and watching her compete is the perfect illustration of the magnificence of our sport. Herculis is glad to host Allyson and I am sure we will attend a great night of athletics.”
