DAEGU (Sporting Alert) — Usain Bolt says he’s OK and will return to business once again in the 200 metres at the World Championships, after false-starting out of the finals of the 100m dash in Daegu.
The Jamaican world record holder and defending champion, was a strong favourite to defend his title over the straightaway event, but jumped the gun and was disqualified.
Asked if he was going to shed any tears over his dreadful mistake, the lanky sprinter said, there is no chance of that happening.
He said: “looking for tears? “Not going to happen. I’m OK.”
Bolt’s training partner and very close friend Yohan Blake went on to become the youngster ever 100m world champion and kept the Jamaican sprint domination alive.
Blake clocked an impressive 9.92 seconds – running into a -1.4 m/s headwind to Beat American champion Walter Dix and St Kitts and Nevis’ Kim Collins by a long shot.
Those two running 10.08 and 10.09, respectively for silver and bronze.
