DAEGU (Sporting Alert) — Usain Bolt will look to make up for his dreadful mistake in the 100 metres with victory over the 200m at the IAAF World Championships tonight.

The Jamaican is the defending champion and he also holds the world record and championships best mark, at 19.19 seconds, set in Berlin in 2009.
So far this season Bolt leads the world with 19.86secs, and he look very comfortable when winning his heat and semi-final yesterday.
His main challenges are expected to come from American Walter Dix, France’s Christophe Lemaitre and Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade, the only other man besides Bolt to have run a sub-20 seconds 200m this season.
Bolt will race from lane three and will be able to see all his rivals at the beginning of the race.
Other events set for day 8 of the championships is the women’s 100 Metres Hurdles semis and final, the women high jump, which has Croatia’s Blanka Vlasic and Russians Anna Chicherova and Svetlana Shkolina, as well as the men’s 1500m and women’s 4x400m relay.
The men’s Javelin Throw finals with Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway and Sergey Makarov of Russia set to battle for the gold medal.
