Top American Track Stars Getting the Spotlight Ahead of Boston
With four weeks to go, media coverage of some of the stars of the 2012 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix is picking up:
- World Championship bronze medalist Matthew Centrowitz spoke about making his pro debut at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
- Returning to the site of two of her American records, Jenn Suhr, the world’s top ranked pole vaulter, talked about her preparation for the 2012 season
- Morgan Uceny, also earned plenty of coverage for her world number one ranking, and will compete over 1000m in Boston
Mo the Miler
While Mo Farah set new British records and won gold and silver medals at 5000m and 10000m, respectively, at last year’s IAAF World Championships, Farah will be stepping down in distance at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, where he will run his first indoor mile in nearly five years.
Farah’s said to be looking to run a fast mile as part of his preparation for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in March, and ultimately the Olympic Games in London. Will Boston be the site of another new British record by Farah? The current UK record of 3:52.02 was set all the way back in 1990 by Olympic medalist Peter Elliott.
