Area high school qualifying for the 105th Millrose Games

New York, N.Y. High school qualifying for the 105th Millrose Games takes center stage as Wednesday’s Millrose Trials at the Armory’s New Balance Track & Field Center will yield the majority of the high school and youth participants for the February 11 showcase.

The top two milers in each the boys’ and girls’ races at the Trials will guarantee a position in the elite field along with four boys and four girls who have secured their spots.

In addition to the New Balance High School Girls’ Mile and the Larry Byrne Boys’ High School Mile Presented by New Balance, other high school events at the Millrose Games will be the 4x400m, 4x800m and sprint medley relays, 55m dashes and the weight throw.

WHAT:     2012 Millrose Trials

WHO:    Athletes from all five boroughs, suburban New York, Long Island and New Jersey will be looking for automatic berths. Young runners will be vying to earn spots as well as youth races are slated for both the 4x200m relay and the Fastest Kid on the Block  55m dash. The Millrose Trials will be broadcast live from 4-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
