KINGSTON (Sporting Alert) — World Championships 100 metres champion Yohan Blake anchored the Racers Lion Track Club to first place in the 4x100m at the 2012 Gibson Relays on Saturday night.
The winners raced across the finishing line in 38.46 seconds, finishing ahead of the Racers Track Club, which clocked 38.76secs.
Asafa Powell and M.V.P. team finished third in 38.76.
Triple Olympic sprint champion and world record holder Usain Bolt was scheduled to take part in the meeting, but pulled out – with his coaching citing that he was behind in practice.
It was the second time for the season that Bolt had delayed launching his campaign after he pulled out of the Camperdown Classics earlier this month because of off the island business, his representatives said.
The women’s event was taken by UTech in a winning time of 44.31, with GC Foster finishing second in 46.35 and Mico University third at 48.19.
