Usain Bolt to open season at Jamaica Invitational

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt will open his campaign at the Jamaica International Invitational Meet on May 5.

Bolt was supposed to kick-start his Olympic campaign in Jamaica last month, but he was forced to delay on his first because of what his management said was for business reason.

“It is always a great privilege to run in front of my home fans,” Bolt said on his website.

“There is always great energy and excitement in the stadium and I will look to put on a good show for the fans.

“This will be my first big meet of 2012 as I prepare to defend my titles in the Olympic Games in London in August.”
