PARIS (Sporting Alert) — World Record holder Usain Bolt will race over 200-metres at the 2013 edition of the Meeting AREVA – Samsung Diamond League – in Paris on July 6.

Bolt, who holds the world record in the event, at 19.19 seconds, will compete against French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre, who was confirmed for the event by the organisers of the Meeting AREVA.

The Jamaican sprint sensation, who dominated the 100m and 200m dash at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, repeated his sprint double feat at the 2012 London Olympic Games last summer, before anchoring Jamaica’s 4x100m relay team to gold in a world record time.

He set the 200-metres world record at the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, the same place he clocked 9.58secs to set the 100m world record.

Bolt opened his 2013 season with two 400m races.

He first ran the open event on Feb. 8, before running a leg on his team’s 4x400m relay team at the Gibson Relays last weekend.
