Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce

MOSCOW, Russia — The following are the results from finals on Day Three at the 2013 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow, Russia, on Monday.

Highlighting the winners on Monday was another Jamaican sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who dominated the women’s 100 metres to win in a world-leading time of 10.71 seconds.

The double Olympic 100m champion ran unchallenged to the finishing line before punching her fist in delight.

Fraser-Pryce led home Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast, who ran 10.93 for the silver and 2011 winner Carmelita Jeter of USA, who took the bronze in 10.94.

USA champion English Gardner, and Jamaican Kerron Stewart both ran 10.97.

In the field, Valerie Adams of New Zealand dominated the women’s Shot Put with a 20.88m effort, while Raphael Holzdeppe of Germany edged French favorite Renaud Lavillenie in the men’s pole vault.
