One of the projected highlighted events at this year’s meeting is the women 100m hurdles where some of the world’s best obstacle clearers will be in action.

Among those in line to compete in the event is USA’s Jasmin Stowers, the defending Relays champion event record holder at the meet with a swift 12.40 seconds from last season.

Current world-leader Kendra Harrison, who owns a personal best of 12.36 secs – the leading time in 2016 – will also be one of the sprint hurdlers to look out for, with 2013 IAAF World Championships bronze medallist Tiffany Porter of Great Britain also entered in the field.

Americans Queen Harrison, Brianna Rollins and Dawn Harper-Nelson, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist are also set to compete, although fan favourite Lolo Jones has been forced to pull out of the meet because of a hamstring injury.

“She’s tweaked a hamstring,” meet director Brian Brown said on Tuesday. “She’s been nursing it, thinking it would be ready and it’s just not responding as quickly as she would like.”

World record holder Aries Merritt of USA, his countrymen Ronnie Ash and David Oliver, as well as Jamaicans Hansle Parchment and Omar McLeod, are some of the big names in the men’s 110 hurdles event.

The meeting will also see talented teenage high jumper Vashti Cunningham, the daughter of former NFL all-pro quarterback Randall Cunningham, competing in the women’s high jump.

Cunningham is the IAAF World Indoor Championships gold medallist from Portland 2016.

LaShawn Merritt, Kirani James, Chris Brown, Bershawn Jackson, Johnny Dutch and Jeffery Gibson are also on the list to compete.
