Several world-class athletes, including Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Elaine Thompson, Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake, just to name a few, will grace the track over four days, as they seek to full out the Jamaica Olympic Games respective rosters.

Bolt, who has been reasonably quiet so far this season, is still the man to beat in both the 100m and 200m events, and he heads into these championships in very good condition.

Besides Bolt, Powell and Blake, World Indoor 60m hurdles champion Omar McLeod, Olympic 110m hurdles bronze medallist Hansle Parchment, Olympic 200m bronze medallist Warren Weir, Nickel Ashmeade and Kemar Bailey-Cole will all lineup as well.

On the women’s side, the 400m is expected to provide some highlights with five quality sprinters, with Shericka Jackson, Novlene Williams-Mills, Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson and Chris-Ann Gordon all battling with others for three slots.

Janeive Russell, who also runs a very good open 400m, will start as the woman to beat in the 400m hurdles, while world champion Danielle Williams is the leading contender in the women’s 100m hurdles.
