KINGSTON, Jamaica – Results from the 100m qualifiers that took place at the 2016 Jamaica Olympic Trials in the morning session on Thursday (30).
Nine sprinters from the morning qualifiers secured a place into the quarterfinals, which is set for the evening session on Thursday night.
The quickest in the morning was Kevaun Rattray, who posted a time of 10.37 seconds, while Mvp Track Club’s Ramone Barnswell, who followed Rattray home in second place in heat 1, recorded the second fastest time.
Also advancing to the quarterfinals later tonight are Ryan Shields (10.44), Kemar Green (10.47), Ajamu Graham (10.56), Romone Hill (10.76), Adam Cumming (10.77) Gawain Williams (10.78) and Schadrique Griffiths (10.81).
These nine athletes will join seeded stars such as world record holder and six-time Olympic Games gold medallist, Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Asafa Powell, Nickel Ashmeade, and Kemar Bailey-Cole.
The quarterfinals of the men’s 100m dash will take place on Thursday night, starting at 7 pm CT.
