
WILLEMSTAD, Curacao — Complete medal table standings for the 2017 Carifta Games, which took place on the Dutch island of Curacao over three days from 15-17 April.
As expected, defending champions Jamaica topped the medal standings after the Caribbean powerhouses tallied 86 medals.
Jamaica combined to win 39 gold, 28 silver and 19 bronze medals at the end the competition at Ergilio Hato Stadium, with the women winning 46 and the men winning 40.
The Bahamas finished with 31 medals, including six gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze, while Trinidad and Tobago tallied 22 medals — seven gold, five silver and 10 bronze.
Nine teams collected at least one gold medal, while 17 countries won at least a medal at this year’s Games.
This year’s Austin Sealy Award was captured by hometown representative Glenn Kunst of Curacao, who improved the pole vault record from 4.10m to the new height of 4.75m.
