No. 1 Arkansas Dominates NCAA Division I Women’s National Indoor Track & Field Rating Index

Arkansas continues to hold the No. 1 spot in the second edition of the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s National Indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI), which was released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Arkansas continues to hold the No. 1 spot in Week 2 of the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s National Indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI), which was released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Continues To Dominate Trailing Pack

The Razorbacks enjoyed another fruitful outing after picking up their third team win of the season at the weekend to increase their lead over the rest of the field.

Arkansas totaled 353.64 points this week to lead three other SEC teams in the top three.

The Razorbacks continue to be chased by No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 3 Georgia, who remain unchanged from a week ago.

However, No. 4 Southern California has moved up two places to make its first appearance within the top-5 this year, while Texas, which was mostly inactive this past week, slid one spot to No. 5.

Another Team Title In The Bag

Arkansas captured a third successive women’s team title on Saturday when they tallied 133 points at the two-day Razorback Invitational, held at the Randal Tyson Track Center. Among the highlighted performance at the weekend a world-leading effort in the 4×400 relay, as well as collegiate-leading marks in the 400m and mile.

“The team win is just kind of extra credit,” said a delighted head coach Lance Harter after the weekend’s display. “We don’t try to do any of the line-ups that we potential can. What’s really exciting is that we had some great breakthroughs individually.”

Completing the top-10 teams for Week 2 of the Women’s National Indoor Track & Field Rating Index are No. 6 Texas Tech, No. 7 LSU, No. 8 BYU, No. 9 Alabama and No. 10 Baylor.

The Cougars jumped 16 places from 24th last week to enter that top-10.

Florida State moves up 20 places to No. 11 this week, with Kentucky slidding three spots to No. 12 and Oregon entering the rankings at No. 13.

The Miami Hurricanes were the highest climbers in Week 2, leaping 27 places to No. 22.
