Full results from the 2021 Kip Keino Classic

Complete results from the 2021 Kip Keino Classic World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Level series with Bromell and Kerley running fast sprint times.

Full results from the 2021 Kip Keino Classic, which took place on Saturday, September 18 in Nairobi, Kenya. The meet was the 12th and final World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Level series event this campaign.

Several of the world’s best athletes were in action as they closed out their season on the African continent and there were quite a few standout performances.

Leading the way in the sprints were Namibia’s Christine Mboma, Americans Trayvon Bromell, and Fred Kerley, while Kenya’s 1500m runner Faith Kipyegon was among the highlighted performers in the longer distances.

Bromell sounded off his season with a world-leading 9.76seconds personal best time to win the men’s 100m, with Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala running an African record of 9.77secs for second place.

Olympic 100m silver medalist Kerley posted a new PB of 19.76secs to secure the men’s 200m title, while Mboma, the Olympic silver medal winner at the Tokyo Games, captured the women’s 200m crown in 22.39secs.

Two-time Olympic champion Kipyegon finished at the top of the podium in the women’s 1500m in 4:02:40.
