Brown used the advantage of the strong following wind-reading to post the fastest time in the world this year under any conditions, but the performance will not be used for record or qualifying purposes because it was achieved with a wind reading that was over the allowable 2.0 m/s.
The American got home ahead of her compatriot Gabby Thomas, who posted 10.80 seconds for second place with another USA sprinter Tamara Clark clocking 10.81 secs for third overall in the timed final.
Running the fastest time with legal wind in the women’s 100m today was Iyana Gray of UT-Arlington who finished 8th overall with a time of 11.31 (+1.5 m/s).
Double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is the world-leader this year with a 10.89 seconds performance done last week at the USATF Golden Games 2022.
