The following are the European Athletics U18 Championships 2022 results at the end of Day 2 on Tuesday (5) with 11 gold medals captured at the Givat Ram Stadium in Jerusalem, Israel.

Several championships records were registered on the second day of action, including Mattia Furlani who was outstanding in the boys’ long jump, as well as Nia Wedderburn-Goodison and Marek Zakrzewski in the girls’ and boys’ 100m dashes respectively, and sprint hurdles star Mia McIntosh.

Furlani stored to 8.04m (+1.8) in the opening round of the competition to win the gold medal in the long jump, improving the previous championship record of 7.60m by Panagiotis Mantzourogiannis of Greece from 2016.

Zakrzewski clocked 10.32 seconds to win the boys’ 100m and set a new championships record on a day when the record in the event dropped twice in the semi-finals. Isak Hughes of Sweden was second in 10.36 secs and Benedikt Thomas Wallstein (10.44) of Germany a PB for third.

The women’s 100m also produced a championships record with Wedderburn-Goodison posting a time of 11.39 secs to set a personal best in lowering the previous European Athletics U18 Championships mark of 11.59 set by Patience Jumbo-Gula of Ireland in 2018.

Also on the track, Mia McIntosh of Great Britain & N.I. dominated the girls’ 100m hurdles field to win with a championship record of 13.05 seconds, becoming the second-fastest in her age division in Europe behind France’s Cyréna Samba-Mayela who did 12.98 in 2016.

Valentina Savva of Cyprus won the girls’ Hammer Throw with a mark of 70.28 meters to defeat Viszkeleti Villő of Hungary who finished with a mark of 69.11m, while Clémence Rougier of France bounded out to 13.72m to win the girls’ triple jump title.
