SEC Indoor Championships 2023 Arkansas Sweep titles

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – The Arkansas Razorbacks men’s and women’s track and field teams were crowned champions of the 2023 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Indoor Championships at the Lance Harter Track at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Saturday. This was the fourth consecutive year that both teams have won the SEC indoor titles.

Dominant Arkansas Sweeps SEC Championships again

The Arkansas men’s team won its 26th all-time SEC indoor championship and its fourth in a row with a total score of 100.25 points, surpassing the runner-up, Florida. The women’s team claimed its 13th all-time SEC Indoor Championship and ninth in a row with a score of 120.5 team points, also surpassing Florida. – Read more: Virginia Tech sweeps ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships

Lauren Gregory of Arkansas won the women’s Cliff Harper Trophy, awarded to the high-points scorer at the SEC Indoor Championships, with a total of 21.50 points. The men’s Cliff Harper Trophy was won by Jacory Patterson of Florida with 18 points.

How records were broken on Day 2 at the 2023 SEC Indoor Championships?

During the second day at the 2023 SEC Championships, several records were broken.

In the men’s 400m, Georgia’s Elija Godwin raced to break a 12-year old meet record with a time of 44.75 seconds. The women’s high jump was dominated by Lamara Distin of Texas A&M, who set a new SEC Championship record by clearing 1.95m/6-4.75.

Florida’s Talitha Diggs made a noteworthy achievement in the women’s 400m by setting a new collegiate record with a time of 50.15 seconds.

Tennessee’s Dylan Jacobs impressed in the men’s 3000m by setting a new meet record with a time of 7:52.49, and the Alabama men’s 4×400 relay team also made an impact by setting a meet record with a time of 3:01.78.
