Omanyala vs Jacobs: Pas-de-Calais 2023 meeting 60m starting list

Here are the start list for the men's 60m at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais 2023 as Ferdinand Omanyala and Marcell Jacobs hunting more fast times.

The starting list and heat sheet for the men’s 60 meters at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais 2023. This is shaping up to be a thrilling event as some of the world’s best sprinters gather in France for this World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series meeting on Wednesday (15).

The competition, which takes place at the Arena Stade Couvert, in Liévin, will feature some of the top global sprinters, including Commonwealth and Africa 100 metres champion Ferdinand Omanyala of Kenya and Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs of Italy. – Read More: Marcell Jacobs, Swoboda, Skrzyszowska shine at Orlen Cup in Lodz

Heat 1 of the 60m will see Omanyala start as the favorite to win, fresh off his national record and personal best time of 6.55 secs at the Meeting Elite en Salle de Mondeville.

He’ll be up against stiff competition in his heat, however, with Ivory Coast’s Arthur Cissé, who posted a 6.57 secs performance this season and owns personal best of 6.53, heading into this event on good form.

Meanwhile, Heat 2 will see Jacobs, who opened his season with a 6.57 secs performance, aiming for another victory. Two-time World Athletics Championships 4x100m relay bronze medalist Shuhei Tada of Japan will also race alongside Jacobs in heat two. He comes in with a season’s best of 6.59.

Jacobs, the Italian European and World Indoor 60m champion is expected to cruised into the final, and could pull the likes of Mickaël-Meba Zeze, who enters with a 6.66 secs SB and Ján Volko (6.69) with him into he final.

After watching Americans Trayvon Bromell and Christian Coleman blazing to fast times of 6.42, and 6.47 over the weekend to top the world standings, fans will be hoping for another high-speed action from the likes of Jacobs and Omanyala at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais 2023.
