ATLANTA, GA – Vibian Chepkirui of Kenya and Tsegay Kidanu of Ethiopia were crowned champions at the Publix Atlanta Half-Marathon 2023, held on Sunday, 26 February. Although they fell slightly short of breaking the state and course records, which would have delivered $2500 bonuses, their convincing victories secured them each with prize money.
Chepkirui, 28, finished with a time of 1:08:46, taking home $4000. Helah Kiprop of Kenya, the Marathon World Championships silver medalist in 2015, finished in second place with a time of 1:10:30, earning $2500. – Read more: Hailemariyam Kiros and Helene Bekele win Osaka Marathon 2023
