Shericka Jackson wins the 100m at the Jamaica National Championships 2022

KINGSTON, Jamaica (March 25, 2023) — Several of Jamaica’s top track and field athletes will compete at the 2023 MVP Velocity Fest 12, which takes place on Saturday at the National Stadium in Kingston, starting at 5:00 p.m. local time/6:00 p.m. EST. Fans can watch live streaming coverage on the Trackalerts TV and SportingAlert YouTube channels.

The World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event will feature some of the world’s best athletes, with the women’s 100-meter race opening the schedule. Among the leading contenders for the win are Bahamas’ Anthonique Strachan, a two-time World U20 champion and Pan American U20 champion, and Jamaica’s Remona Burchell.

Another highly anticipated event at the 2023 MVP Velocity Fest 12 is the women’s 400m, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EST. The event will see world 200m champion Shericka Jackson compete against Stacey-Ann Williams, Ronda Whyte, Rushell Clayton, and Janieve Russell.

In addition, Briana Williams will compete in the women’s 200m, along with Barbados’ world 400m bronze medalist Sada Williams, Jamaica’s World U20 back-to-back 100m champion Tina Clayton, and Kemba Nelson.

Former world 100m champion Yohan Blake will race in the men’s 200m, along with Tyquendo Tracy of Swept Track Club, Brendon Rodney, and Antonio Watson.
