Results: Dorcas Tuitoek and Isaac Kipkemboi win RomaOstia Half Marathon 2023

Kenyan runners Dorcas Tuitoek and Isaac Kipkemboi won the 48th Telepass Maratonina Roma-Ostia on Sunday. Both set personal bests as well.

Dorcas Tuitoek and Isaac Kipkemboi were the champions of the 48th edition of the Telepass Maratonina Roma-Ostia half marathon, a World Athletics Label Road Race held in Rome, Italy, on Sunday, 5 March, 2023. Tuitoek finished the 21.1-kilometer course in a personal best time of 1:06:21, while Kipkemboi completed the race, also with a personal best time of 59:17.

In the women’s category, Tuitoek took first place, followed by Lonah Chemtai Salpeter of Israel, who finished in 1:06:56. Caroline Korir of Kenya and Sofiia Yaremchuk of Italy completed the top five with personal best times of 1:07:23 and 1:08:49, respectively.

On the men’s side, Kipkemboi took the top spot with a personal best time of 59:17, followed by Wesley Kimutai of Kenya, who finished with a personal best time of 59:47. Takele Bikila of Ethiopia came in third with a personal best time of 59:56.

Soufiyan Bouqantar of Morocco and Kipsambu Kimakal of Kenya completed the top five with personal best times of 59:58 and 1:01:32, respectively.

A total of 7,220 runners finished the race, up from 5,696 in 2022. The Telepass Maratonina Roma-Ostia, founded in 1974, was not held in 1982, 1999, or 2020 but was held in October 2021. The course is a WA/AIMS-certified point-to-point course but is not eligible for records.

In 2022, Irine Jepchumba Kimais of Kenya set the women’s course record of 1:06:03, while Sebastian Kirimu Sawe of Kenya set the men’s record of 58:02 in the same year.

The 2023 race saw two women run sub-1:07, and four men finish in under one hour.
