Jacksonville, Florida (March 8) – The U.S. 15-K Championships – Gate River Run – for Men and Women were held over the weekend, and below are the elite races results and recap, with Emily Sisson and Hillary Bor coming out on top against a pair of strong fields.

Hillary Bor Also Wins The Equalizer Bonus!

Hillary Bor won the Men’s Elite Race with a finishing time of 43:11. Bor dominated the final portions of Saturday’s race, earning him $12,000 plus the $5,000 equalizer bonus after making a five-minute head start for the women. He passed Emily Sisson with about 400 meters left in the race.

Leonard Korir followed closely, clocking in at 43:51, securing $5,000. Brian Shrader completed the top three with a finish time of 43:59 and earned $3,000.

In the Women’s Elite Race, Sisson won her third straight title at this distance and seventh national title, with a time of 48:26, earning her $12,000 for the win. Sisson, who is training for the London Marathon, admits that she had nothing left in her legs when she was passed by Bor close to the finish line.

“When Bor passed me, I had absolutely nothing in my legs,” she said in her post-race broadcast interview.

Emma Grace Hurley followed Sisson home, securing second place with a finish time of 50:04, and receiving $5,000. Jessa Hanson took third place with a finish time of 51:15, collecting $3,000 for her place on the podium.

The other top women’s finishers were Dakotah Lindwurm (52:03), Annie Frisbie (52:24) and Allie Ostrander (52:37).

The other top men’s finishers were Reid Buchanan (44:07), Jacob Thomson (44:11), and Teshome Mekonen (44:16).

The event had an increase in the number of total finishers, which amounted to 11,088, including 5,212 men and 5,848 women.
