Shericka Jackson at the 2022 Jamaica National Championships

SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica (March 11) — Shericka Jackson, the world 200m champion, won the 400m race at the GC Foster Classic 2023 on Saturday, improving on her fastest time for the year. The 28-year-old Jamaican sprinter beat her previous record of 53.11 seconds, which she set in January 2023, with a winning time of 52.05 seconds this weekend.

The reigning World Athletics champion in the 200m dominated the race at the GC Foster Classic 2023, leaving former CAC Games 400m hurdles champion Ronda Whyte at a distant second with a time of 53.18 seconds.

Completing the podium places was Anthonique Strachan, the 2012 World U20 100m and 200m sprint double champion from the Bahamas, who clocked 53.91 seconds for third place.
