NASSAU, Bahamas (April 8) – Jamaica has taken an early lead in the 50th Carifta Games 2023, impressively securing 28 medals on the first day of competition held at the Thomas Robinson National Stadium. The regional powerhouse currently dominates the medal standings, leading both the boys’ and girls’ categories.

The host nation, Bahamas, took second place, with a total of 17 medals, including several golds, while Trinidad and Tobago closed out Day One with a combined total of 16 medals, five of which are golds.

Thirteen countries won at least one medal on the boys’ side, while 12 nations managed to secure a medal in the girls’ division. So far, nine nations, including Jamaica, have won at least one gold medal.
