Walnut, Calif., 14 May – Allie Jones of USC and Oliver Thorner of Washington won the women’s and men’s multi-events on Day Two at the 2023 Pac-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Saturday (13).
The 2023 Pac-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships will continue on Sunday’s third and final day with a host of finals and you can watch the action live on the Pac-12 Network platforms.

Allie Jones Wins Women’s Heptathlon
Jones tallied a school-record 6234 points to win the women’s heptathlon title, breaking her own mark of 6217 points, set at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 13. Jones, who won four of the seven events during the two day competition, remained third on the Pac-12 all-time list behind only Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Brianne Theisen, but improved her personal best mark.

Ida Eikeng of Washington scored 6114 points to better her personal best and Husky school record for second place while third place went to Avery McMullen of Colorado with 5831 points, followed by Taylor Chocek (5793 points) of Oregon and Anneke Moersdorf (5618 points) of Oregon State in completing the top five.
Oliver Thorner Wins Men’s Decathlon
Meanwhile, Oliver Thorner recorded a personal best score of 7,761 points to become the first Washington decathlon Pac-12 conference champion since Jeremy Taiwo in 2011. Thorner, who won just one of the 10 events in the competition, managed to use a well-balanced performance to seal the win by 66 points this weekend.
Rafael Raap of Oregon ended second with a score of 7695 points, with Washington’s Comin Pescador taking third overall with 7,611 points, and his teammate Schlueter claiming fourth with 7,545.
Washington Leads Pac-12 Standings After Two Days
After two days of competition and eight scored events, Washington leads the men’s points standings with 68 points, with Arizona on 53 and USC on 44 following in the top three.
Eight of the 21 events have been scored on the women’s side as well and Washington is also the overnight leader on this side with 60.50 points. Oregon is second with 55 points, followed by California with 33 points.
Finals on Sunday at Pac-12 Championships
The 2023 Pac-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships will continue on Sunday’s third and final day with a host of finals. The action will begin at 11:00 a.m. PT with the mens Discus Throw final, followed by the men’s Triple Jump final at 11:45 a.m. PT.
Live action on the track starts at 1:00 p.m. PT with the men’s and women’s 4×100 relay races, followed by the men’s and women’s 1500 meters finals. The finals of the men’s and women’s sprint hurdles, 100 meters, 400 meters, and 800 meters will also be contested on Sunday.
The meet will conclude with the men’s and women’s 4×400 meter relay finals at 4:10 p.m. PT.
