A host of top collegiate athletes from several of the nation’s best programs will battle for places at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships next month when they compete at the 2023 NCAA East Region First Round meet. Leading the list of schools featuring at the meet this week are: Air Force, Arizona, Arkansas, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, California, Colorado, Colorado State, Iowa State, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, New Mexico State, Oregon, Stanford, TCU, Texas Tech, UCLA, Houston, USC, Washington, and Wisconsin, among others.
The 2023 NCAA Outdoor West First Round four-day meet will alternate men’s and women’s competitions each day. Similar to the East First Round meet, the men will be competing on Wednesday and Friday, while the women are in action on Thursday and Saturday.
Action on Day 1 will start with the men’s Hammer Throw at 10:00 a.m. local time or 1:00 p.m. ET, while the Javelin Throw first round gets going at 1:30 p.m. in Sacramento or 4:30 p.m. ET.
The women will begin their schedule on Thursday at the same time with the same events before the quarterfinal round of events take the spotlight on Friday, beginning with the men’s 4x100m relay. The 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor West First Round meet ends on Saturday with the women’s 4x400m relay at 8:45 p.m. local time.
The qualifiers from both the East and West First Round will advance to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
