Michael Norman Prefontaine Classic Diamond League 2022

LOS ANGELES, 14 May — World champion Michael Norman will race in the men’s 400 meters at the 2023 USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix at Drake Stadium on Saturday, May 27. The meeting is part of the 2023 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series and will showcase some of the world’s best athletes in California.

Norman, who announced earlier this year that he intends to run the 100 meters this season, has already made appearances in both the 100 meters and 200 meters this season. Also lining up in the race is London Olympic champion Kirani James of Grenada, who won a silver medal behind Norman at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon last summer and owns a personal best of 43.74 seconds.

The United States’ Champion Allison, the fourth-place finisher at Oregon22, is also listed among the athletes set to feature in the event. Allison, the 2022 NCAA champion, has a lifetime best of 43.70 seconds. He is set to make his season debut at the 2023 USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.

Olympic fourth-place finisher Michael Cherry of the United States, teammate Noah Williams and Bahamas’ Alonzo Russell are also slated to race in the men’s 400 meters at the meet.
