GÖTZIS, Austria – The start list for the women’s Heptathlon competition at the highlighted 2023 Hypomeeting in Götzis this weekend will feature some top competitors. The event, part of the World Athletics Combined Events Tour Gold series, is set to showcase an intense battle for the title over two days, Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28.

How to watch the 2023 Hypomeeting in Götzis on Saturday?

Headlining the field is Olympic silver medalist Anouk Vetter, who will embark on her first Heptathlon of the season. Vetter, who clinched a silver medal at the World Athletics Championships last summer in Oregon, is eager to take on a strong contingent of athletes, including American stars Anna Hall and Taliyah Brooks.

Vetter captured the Hypomeeting title at last year’s edition in Götzis with an impressive score of 6693 points, setting a new national record. She then went on to elevate her performance, claiming the silver at the Championships in Oregon with a score of 6867 points later in the summer.

Hall, the reigning bronze medalist at the World Championships and 2022 NCAA champion, will be making her debut in Götzis, adding further excitement to the event. The American prodigy arrives in top form, having displayed some top performances in various open events at the beginning of her campaign.

Meanwhile, Brooks, also from the United States, is poised for her second Heptathlon of the season. Her victory at the GardaStars by 36th Multistars, where she amassed an impressive total of 6330 points, signifies her readiness to challenge the field in Götzis. – Read more: GardaStars by 36th Multistars Results; Brooks sets PB and Tilga breaks MR

Additionally, Adrianna Sulek of Poland, last year’s runner-up in Götzis, is determined to make a statement and contend for this year’s title. Great Britain’s 2019 world champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson is also entered in the field.
