USATF Throws Festival results; Brooke Andersen dominates Hammer again

The full USATF Throws Festival results on Saturday, May 20 saw world champion Brooke Andersen dominating the Hammer with another world-leading performance.

(May 21) — Complete results from the USATF Throws Festival – Tucson Elite Classic on Saturday (20) as several of the best in the world went head-to-head in this World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting at the University of Arizona Roy P. Drachman Stadium.

The American, who was already the world leader entering this weekend’s meet, improved her own 2023 best mark in the third round of the competition. USA compatriot and world bronze medalist Janee’ Kassanavoid threw 76.60m for second place on Saturday, with third going to Annette Echikunwoke (75.00m).

Other notable winners at the meeting were New Zealand’s Tom Walsh, who threw 21.86m to win the men’s Shot Put. American Rudy Winkler won the men’s Hammer Throw with 80.88m, Cuba’s Yaimé Pérez dominated the women’s Discus with 65.88m, while Canadian Sarah Mitton won the women’s Shot Put with a mark of 19.58m.
