
Hungary claimed victory in the 2023 European Athletics Team Championships 2nd Division, scoring 456.50 points over three days. The event took place on Thursday (22). Lithuania narrowly outperformed Slovenia by a margin of 0.5 points, securing the last promotion spot to Division One.
Ukraine also achieved promotion in the 2nd Division in Silesia, finishing second with a total of 435.50 points. Hungary maintained their lead from the previous day, delivering consistent performances throughout the competition on the second day.

Initially, Slovenia held a 34.5-point lead over Lithuania after 25 events. However, Lithuania steadily closed the gap throughout the day, ultimately gaining a 3.5-point advantage before the final event, the 4x400m mixed relay.
Slovenia emerged victorious in the event, fueling hopes of reclaiming a top-three position. However, Lithuania’s fourth-place finish in the same event secured the necessary points for promotion.
In the meantime, Iceland (246.50 pts), Luxembourg (198), and the Republic of Moldova (170) faced relegation to the 3rd Division.
